Celebrating 40 (+ 1) years of Woodbury Boston
Did you know that Woodbury Boston Primary School turned 40 in 2020? In fact, plans to celebrate were well underway when Covid-19 threw a wrench in the plans. Now that life in WA is largely back to normal, we are so pleased to share the details of our 40th anniversary celebration!
FOR THE DIARY
On Saturday 23 October, 2021 — we’re on! The party is happening at school from 1:00-4:30pm and what’s on offer is fun for the whole family. With musical guests, a sausage sizzle, and food vans, our beautiful campus will be alive with celebratory vibes.
But wait. There’s more. Everyone knows that a 40th isn’t a 40th without a bouncy castle, so we’ve booked one for a good measure.
Live music
We’re proud to present Formidable Vegetable. With a wheelbarrow full of dirty electro radish-beets, crusty jazz ukulele, swingin' strings, and hyperactive horns, Formidable Vegetable is a bushel of fun.
With nine albums under their belts — including their latest, Garbage Guts — Formidable Vegetable’s sustainable, future-friendly message is a perfect fit for our celebration.
For the second act, our very own rockstar, Whitney, will be performing a set with her band, Impact. They play a mix of pop and rock from the 1950s - 2000s, all sing-along favourites.
Formidable Vegetable takes the stage at 1:30, followed by Impact at 3:30.
The funkiest reunion
If you’ve ever been part of the Woodbury Boston family, you’re invited! This includes past and current students, staff, and GB members. We’d love to see everyone, so be sure to spread the word.
Housekeeping
Parking is an issue at school, and we certainly don’t want to inconvenience our neighbours on the hill. That’s why we’ll provide continuous shuttle bus transport from the Bornholm Hall. Please keep your eyes on the newsletter and the Facebook page — that’s how we’ll keep you updated in the lead up to the event.
Of course, Woodbury Boston’s 40th anniversary celebration is family friendly — that means it’s a smoke-free, alcohol-free, pet-free zone.
And of course, it’s a Covid-safe event, which means you’ll be required to sign in.
Please join us!
We can’t wait to celebrate this occasion with you. If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to email the office: admin@woodburyboston.wa.edu.au — and keep your eyes peeled for more information!
