Compassionate Communication
the language of our community
At Woodbury Boston Primary School, we value compassion and kindness in all our interactions. From the very youngest students through to all staff members, Compassionate Communication gives us a common language for all kinds of communication. Based on the work of Dr Marshall Rosenberg, compassionate communication practices encourage a quality of connection that ideally leads to everyone’s needs being met.
Compassionate Communication gives the whole school community (students/staff/parents) a common language which underpins all communication. It means that we focus on:
What we think, say and do
How we listen
Clarity of communication
Compassionate language and strategies are integrated in teaching and learning from K-6. Modelling by staff consolidates the experience for our students and kind interactions become second nature to everyone at school.
