About
Children learn best when they’re happy
Woodbury Boston Primary School is a small, independent, co-educational school on Torbay Hill, Western Australia. Our students learn the Western Australian Curriculum and so much more.
Our school is based on the ethos that everyone, children and adults, are treated at all times with respect and kindness.
wondering what that looks like?
It looks different every day, because children are different every day. We address this by focusing on the whole child. Your child’s social-emotional development is key to their success in school and in life. That’s why our students spend so much time solving problems together, thinking critically together, and working hard together.
agency in an uncertain world
When you really think about it, there’s not much in their day-to-day lives that children get to influence. But that’s not the case at Woodbury Boston. Even our youngest students have a voice. And our youngest students have responsibilities, too.
School…with a twist
We have very high expectations of our students. Here are some of the things that set us apart from a mainstream school:
Mixed age play: At Woodbury Boston, our students play in mixed age groups. This is particularly good for younger siblings, who always love that they can play with their older brother or sister at school.
Our students also love the relationships they form between age groups. Year 6 Carers are often called upon to help out when younger students need a helping hand. They model conflict resolution, and the whole experience allows children to learn that they have the tools to solve problems independently.
Child-centered programming: Our teachers and Education Assistants work tirelessly to create programs tailored to the students’ interests.
Adventures! Children are hard-wired adventurers. And we make the most of that at Woodbury Boston. Through our camps and Out & About programs, our kids connect the things they learn in the classroom with real life experiences. Even our playground is an adventure. With acres of bush to explore, there’s so much fun to be had at school.
