Playgroup at Woodbury Boston welcomes parents and bubs
Building connections to the community is a big part of what we do at Woodbury Boston. With three of our Kindy and Pre-Primary students having welcomed siblings this year (more on the way!) we’re positively bubbling with excitement. We put our heads together and wondered: what could we do to better support parents and families? Soon, the Playgroup at Woodbury Boston was born.
Everyone welcome
Open to everyone (not just existing Woodbury Boston families), this parent-run playgroup is for children aged 0-4 and their parents/caregivers. We’re opening up our school hall on Tuesday mornings because we know how important it is for parents of young children to connect with each other.
On 27 July at 9-11am, we welcomed our first participants and it was exciting for everyone. As one student remarked “they’re turning the Hall into a baby playwoom!” The friendly group of parents and their little ones got to know each other over morning tea. Parents chatted while the children got up to lots of different things, including:
Interacting with a range of age-appropriate toys and books
Popping their gumboots on for a quick look around the campus
Meeting new children and grown-ups in a caring environment
And some just laid on blankets, taking it all in
August dates
After the success of our first two sessions, we’re looking forward to meeting again. If you’re keen to come along, pop 10 August in the diary. We’re hoping there’s enough interest to keep the group going.
