Organisation
At Woodbury Boston, we educate the whole child. Every member of the school community plays a role in providing our students with the best possible school experience.
School
Woodbury Boston is a co-educational, independent primary school. We are a member of the Association of Independent Schools WA (AISWA) and we are registered through the Education Department as a non-government school, servicing children from kindy to Year 6.
Governing Body
The Governing Body consists of parents and other members of the wider community, elected at the school’s Annual General Meeting. The Governing Body meets regularly during the year, focusing on such issues as school policy, future directions, human resources and marketing.
The Governing Body members are:
Jacky Coglan (Chair)
Delroy Bergsma
Emma Farmer
Haydn Mansell
Jane Sawicki
Kade Grocott
Kylie Cutten
Rene Guenther
Principal Nick Lynch and a school administrator are also members of the GB, in ex-officio, non-voting roles.
Teaching Staff
Teachers and education assistants work in partnership to deliver educational programs at all age levels. They are committed to:
Seeking out and nurturing, friendly relationships with the children, without patronising them;
Supporting the school’s ethos by showing kindness and respect to their colleagues and to the students at all times;
Displaying the highest standards of professionalism.
Parents are welcome and, indeed, encouraged to be part of the school community. You know your child best, and your involvement is a big part of their success at school. Suggestions and comments from parents are welcome and concerns and complaints are taken seriously.
Here are some other ways you can get involved:
Participate in on and off-campus activities
Lend a hand at a Busy Bee
Help out with fundraising
Volunteer to help prepare our canteen lunches or our end of the year celebration
We regularly offer opportunities for parents to volunteer in the newsletter — the more the merrier!
